I find this amusing. Ford is considering suing tuners for making one Ford look like another Ford.

Imagine if Bentley sued Ford for the Continental ripoff, or if Land Rover sued for the Explorer ripoff, or if Aston Martin sued for the Fusion and Taurus ripoff?

Considering Ford’s design philosophy over the past few years is to simply copy designs from British brands to the point that our executive assistant wants to buy a new Explorer for no reason other than it “looks like a Range Rover” they should really look in the mirror before suing a tuner which is clearly in no danger of watering down or offering a knock off of the GT.

Hot take: car styling is like fashion: it comes and goes in waves. Car makers end up designing similar cars. Why do you think so many cars look “aggressive” now with all these swoops and crap? Imagine if the fashion industry sued each other based on copied style. Literally every brand would go under.

Personally, I think this lawsuit is stupid.

Thats an odd looking Ford GT, i didn’t know it came in that colo....wait...THATS A MUSTANG! I had no idea?! They nailed the flying buttress thats for sure.

Agreed on all fronts. However, there is copying similar themes (like gullwing doors) and making a lesser car look like a more expensive car from soup to nuts.

I agree on the no lawsuits point but I do find it amusing that Ford is one of the worst offenders and considers litigation when it happens to them.

Next, Honda sues Honda for giving the Accord a transverse V6 just like the first-gen NSX. How dare they!
